The mark of Xenu?

July 29, 2009, 9:15 PM

The building next door to my office building is being renovated, and has been under construction since around April, and has been thoroughly driving me crazy with all the noise while I’m trying to work. You name it, I’ve heard it, from dumpsters banging to jackhammers to the movement of various equipment. Plus dust in the vicinity as I’m walking to Whole Foods. And you know who the new occupant will be?

The Church of Scientology. Yes. THEM.

This must be their way of harassing me at work. Rather than sending nasty letters to my office as some Anons have alleged has happened to them, they’re instead putting a facility right next to my office building. This is supposed to be their Ideal Org, as I understand it. So for the past three months or so, they’ve been gutting and rebuilding the Embassy Building at 1424 16th Street NW. First they did some demolition. Then asbestos abatement (hopefully performed better than on the Freewinds). Then more demolition. Then all the construction stuff disappeared. Then a new company took over and demolition continued. Now they’ve removed the windows and covered them with plastic.

And look what showed up today, cut into the plastic sheeting on one of the windows:

FCreepy. Considering this is a Scientology facility, who knows - it might be the mark of Xenu, which, according to Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard, is that alien that brought his people to earth in spacecraft that look like DC-8s (*snrk*), stacked them around volcanoes, and blew them up with hydrogen bombs.

Creepy. Considering this is a Scientology facility, who knows – it might be the mark of Xenu, which, according to Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard, is that alien that brought his people to earth in spacecraft that look like DC-8s (*snrk*), stacked them around volcanoes, and blew them up with hydrogen bombs. Talk about something that will give you nightmares. And here’s the face in some sort of context:

The face in context

Still kinda creepy. But I’m sure it will be nice when it’s finished. Too bad it’s them occupying it. Considering that the block is already mostly filled with buildings containing a mixture of various nonprofit organizations, it’s a shame that it won’t be more nonprofits in that building. Instead, a dangerous cult will be taking up residence next door.

So there you go. Hopefully, though, that creepy-looking face will disappear soon. Then once they finish construction, we’ll see how they manage to cover the windows on the doors of the Ideal Org with curtains. After all, they’ve pretty much mastered “Curtain Tech” over at the Founding Org, where, whenever they see Anons raiding, they hang a red or white curtain over the window in the main door. I believe the idea is that if they can’t see us, then we don’t exist, since they also pull all the shades on the side of the Founding Org that faces the triangle. See Curtain Tech in action last Halloween:

From what I can tell, the Ideal Org will be a much bigger challenge to practice Curtain Tech with. Look at the entrance:

Note signage in the window for Rand Construction. That was the first company, which suddenly and mysteriously packed up and vacated mid-job. The new company is Regency Commercial Construction. But as you can see, though, this will be a hard one for Curtain Tech. And with so many windows, it will take ages to pull all the shades whenever we come raiding. And I’m sure we will.
