My costume is starting to take form…

October 17, 2008, 12:48 AM

My Breda is brown:

My Metro costume with brown paint on it

So yeah, I’ve added that classic “Metro brown” to the boards. I’ve also basically cemented what kind of Breda I’m going to be. I am going to be a 3000-series, prior to rehab. One of these:

They don’t make ’em like that anymore. Actually, I don’t believe there are even any of these left anymore. Last time I had one of these was on April 18, when I had Breda 3289 on my morning commute. Interestingly enough, that was also the first time I wore flip-flops to work on Fridays. But I haven’t ridden or seen a Breda 3000-series with choppers since, so I believe they’re all gone. It’s been almost six months, and I’ve had plenty of 3000-series rehabs since then, as well as a lot of 4000s (those still have choppers, though they don’t quite sound the same).

But yeah, when one is painting up a Metro train, expect to use a lot of brown paint.

Web site: Totally unrelated, but Friday is the fourth anniversary of the Million Worker March...

Song: Old Breda 3000 chopper noise - the distinctive Breda buzzing sound.

Quote: Very brown...
