Getting there…

2 minute read

Two walls totally down. Parts of two to go. Look:

And the wall is finished, and I rounded the corner.

I'm about as close as I can get. Now I have to start moving furniture to continue. Also notice the shine on the painted part of the wall. It's still wet in the picture. So we're talking FRESH paint.

I had no idea that the phone jack was ATTACHED to the plate until I removed it. That was a pain in the butt to paint around, and even more to put somewhere while the paint dried, since it had a range of only inches. So I put it up on this stool, where it will stay until the paint dries and I can reattach it.

And there's the other wall. Matching sides. Not much further to go now. I have about eight feet left to paint on each side now.

So now the fun begins. We have to move furniture now. That’s going to be a pain, but worth it when we’re finished, since we can start really rearranging now. Bring the couch back in, and send me to Wal-Mart to buy the other new stuff. And then once the furniture is in place, the books and videos can come back in. And once that’s done, bring on the books and stuff. And lastly, let’s put some wallhangings up!

And after that… the project is complete. And we can at last relax.

Web site: People mover system in Morgantown, West Virginia. Nice little transit system. Harrisonburg could probably use one of those.

Song: "Rollback America", "Working on the Rollbacks", and "Rollin, Rollin, Rollin". I've been talking on IM about old Wal-Mart jingles again.

Quote: "It smells like paint in here..."
