“Hey! Who turned the heat up?”

Lake MoomawIt’s officially May now, and let me tell you… nature’s thermostat has been cranked up to match the month. It’s gotten warm, and it’s gotten humid! Talk about heat. We certainly don’t have to worry about winter lingering around this year, but then the heat can get a bit oppressive. And it only gets worse with the season, as summer arrives and it gets even hotter. So why on Earth did I put a picture of Lake Moomaw (in winter, no less) in this article? Well, winter could not be helped. I happened to be there with Big Mavica in the winter, and so I have no foliage pictures. But still, why Lake Moomaw? That’s so often the solution to the heat woes. Grab an afternoon, and hop in! Especially after a long, warm day, the water always feels cool and refreshing. Just put on the swim trunks and enjoy. There’s nothing like floating along peacefully in the water, letting the time pass without a care in the world. It’s really a good process, since once the mind is allowed to wander, physically you may be laying there in the middle of a lake, but mentally, you’re all over the place! You’re on the Metro riding towards Metro Center, you’re off in New York City hobnobbing with the rich and famous, you’re running the Boston Marathon, you’re enjoying the sights as seen from far above, you’re everywhere. And then when your mind comes back to meet the rest of you, you’re a much better person for letting your mind exit. Now, refreshed after a little mental vacation, we are re-energized and ready for action! Weeeeeeeeeeeeee…
