“Seems that people do some very strange things…”
Sometimes you just have to sit back and laugh at the crazy stuff that goes on all around you. You may not believe it, but people do some really crazy stuff sometimes. This is what keeps such things as Randy Cassingham’s This is True newsletter and Web site in business, and also keeps sites like Portal of Evil’s POE News site running. These kinds of sites are the ones that give YOU the real news (the interesting stuff), rather than the usual stuff you hear about on TV and stuff like the Enron fiasco. So I thought I’d share this with my residents for the second half of February and the first half of March on my front bulletin board. So placed to maximize usable space on the board, the title “Evil News”, based on Portal of Evil’s site, and then plastered up a whole lot of news. I put the board up on Thursday night (the 14th – you know, Singles Awareness Day), but the articles now need to be refreshed already due to the fact that the board went up later than I wanted. The articles up there currently are no more recent than the 11th. In the next update to the board, I’m probably going to include one article regarding the “Viagra Ceviche” sold at a restaurant in Manhattan. That’s one thing – news articles about Viagra are always so interesting… unintentionally, or perhaps intentionally, they’re just funny, this recent one talking about facing “stiff penalties”, etc. Or maybe it’s just me who finds that funny. Still, though, gotta love the news that’s fit to print but hard to find…
