In front of the Lynchburg Courthouse, leading down to Church Street, is Monument Terrace. Monument Terrace is a brick and concrete stairway, containing memorials on the landings to Lynchburg residents who fought in various wars. From the top of Monument Terrace, one can see all the way down to the fountain in the James River.
