Foamhenge
Unfortunately, at the time of my visit on July 1, 2006, Foamhenge was looking somewhat rough. The effects of the weather had caused the foam to erode in places, weeds were growing everywhere, and a number of the "stones" in the center were missing, with their anchors marked by painted milk cartons. Additionally, other visitors before me had left their mark on the structure, carving their names and such into the gray-painted foam. I present this photo set to you with few words. By doing it this way, I hope to convey a bit of the atmosphere around Foamhenge. It was quiet amongst the "stones", with only the sound of the occasional car engine and the wind to break the silence. This sign, also made of foam, provides basic information to visitors about Foamhenge, comparing its construction to that of the real Stonehenge. Unfortunately, graffiti was rampant, as many sought to leave their mark on the site. |
